Community Action Hub Internship

 

The Gibney Dance Community Action Hub Internship offers the opportunity to experience first hand how arts can make an impact in the community. Through its diverse programming, Hub interns gain exposure to models that are at the forefront of arts and social change. In addition to gaining invaluable arts administration experience, the internship is an excellent opportunity to expand one’s training and knowledge in combining arts and social change.

Summary of Position

The Community Action Hub is a physical space at Gibney Dance’s 280 Broadway location and is dedicated to helping people who want to unite their passion for artistic expression with their dedication to community-based social action. The Hub offers an extensive resource library and workspace for project development, as well as opportunities for consultations with professionals working at the intersection of social action and the arts. The Hub also provides an array of programmatic professional development opportunities that encourage the creation of partnerships between artists and social service organizations to affect social change.

The Hub Internship requires a 4-month commitment of 16 hours per week. The Community Action Hub Intern reports to and works directly with the Community Action Manager and the Associate Artistic Director of Gibney Dance to provide assistance in ensuring the remarkable management and operation of the Hub. The Hub Intern will also have the opportunity to work with the on-site clinical adviser.
