Erasing Borders Festival of Indian Dance-Call for Submissions

Erasing Borders Festival of Indian Dance-Call for Submissions Darial Sneed

The Indo-American Arts Council invites dancers and choreographers to apply for its 9th Annual Erasing Borders Festival of Indian Dance. While the title of this festival suggests Indian dance, the festival is not limited to Indian dance or dancers. As years’ past, we are seeking classical/traditional Indian dance, folk, fusion, modern, or contemporary dance based on Indian inspired dance or music. We welcome any dancer or choreographer who fits into one of the genres and to submit his/her performance to the festival for consideration. We are looking for works that are up to 13 min in length.

Erasing Borders takes place in heart of New York city each year, and showcases artistic talent that transcends cultures and tradition. Not to mention, these performances get reviews in leading newspapers including New York Times & Financial Times.

This year's festival performances will be held on:

* August 15: Outdoors at Wagner Park

* September 9: Indoor concert at Schimmel Auditorium in PACE University

Both performances will have unique lineups. You can apply for either one or both dates. APPLICATION DEADLINE is MARCH 1, 2016. To apply, follow instructions on this page: http://tinyurl.com/EB2016App
