ModArts Dance Collective is proud to host its first annual dance festival celebrating female choreographers of color entitled Collective Thread. The two day festival will be held at Bridge for Dance, 2726 Broadway (between W 104th and 105th Street), 3rd Floor, 10025 on Friday, May 13 and Friday, May 20 at 8 PM. Tech/Dress rehearsal will be Sunday, May 1 5-7 PM. Female choreographers of color are encouraged to submit the following to info@modartsdance.com:

Choreographer’s name, address, cell number, and email

Submitted piece’s name (with 6 or less dancers in piece), running time (7 minutes or less), brief piece description (up to 100 words), and Vimeo/YouTube link (with password if needed)

It’s FREE to apply. Submissions will be accepted until Monday, March 21. Choreographers will be notified by Monday, March 28. If chosen, choreographers are required to pay a $35 production fee to assist with the costs of the venue and P.R./Marketing by Monday, April 11. All participants will receive photos and a video of their piece at no cost 2-3 weeks after the dance festival. We look forward to receiving your submissions.
