Dear NYC dancers,

The tragedy of the recent shooting in Orlando is unimaginable. Therefore, we are in the process of planning a vigil/showcase of sorts to honor the victims. It will be this coming Sunday the 19th at 7:30pm at the Ailey Studios. (Call time is 6pm).  If you or a company you dance with is interested in sharing art that is relevant to the grief and anger we all feel, and support for all the victims of gun violence and in solidarity with the LGBTQ community, we would love to have you attend and perform. The power of art to bring people together and express grief, disbelief and potentially even an ounce of hope in such tragic times is monumental.

We are not curating/judging work, but allowing all to perform on a first come first serve basis. However, we are asking ask that pieces be between 3 and 8 minutes.  Each company should plan to perform only 1 piece to allow more dancers to share their movement.
