Emotions Physical Theatre is auditioning Female and Male dancers for our 2016-17 season. The audition will be Friday, July 22nd at Center for Performance Research (361 Manhattan Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11211) from 4:00pm to 7:00pm.

Emotions Physical Theatre will also be awarding partial and full talent based scholarships (including scholarships for women) to the “Contemporary Dance Experience Summer Intensive”. Our summer intensive is focused on connecting dancers with paid work opportunities and top notch training. In this six day event, dancers will sharpen their skills, connect with hiring choreographers, and audition for several companies at once. The workshop runs August 22nd through August 27th. Each morning will start with two technique classes including ballet, contemporary, Loft, Graham and improv. Each afternoon, dancers will rehearse with several renowned NYC company directors many of whom offer paid contracts. Optional evening seminars, offered at no additional cost, include sessions on how to market yourself as a dancer and how to turn dance into a career. The final repertory audition features works choreographed during the intensive presented to multiple choreographers and dance professionals in an audition/job fair on August 27th. Participants will also receive video and photos that can be used for personal promotion.
