SEEKING ARTS ADMINISTRATION INTERNS

nathantrice/RITUALS project-by-project dance theatre is looking for 3-4 reliable interns to join our team of volunteers and project assistants alongside artistic director Nathan Trice in the execution of the company’s 2017 performances of the Recognizing Women Project.

The Recognizing Women Project is an interdisciplinary research initiative created in 2001 to develop dance theater that addresses women’s unique experiences and contributions. Through a guided collaborative research processes between the company and university students enrolled in various social science and humanities programs, the RWP develops an interdisciplinary understanding of a specific focus concerning women to act as the groundwork for a new creation. 

The Recognizing Women Project’s 2017 season will premier March 16 – 19, at the Kumble Theater for the Performing arts in Brooklyn, NY.

 

Intern Responsibilities include:

- Assist with coordinating university students, faculty, high school and local businesses in audience engagement activities: open rehearsals, performance invitations & performances, school performances, and lecture demonstrations.

- Assist project assistants in executing our marketing plan for the project across all social media platforms: website, email-blast, Facebook, twitter, Instagram, thematic blogging, community restaurants, bars, coffee shops and vendors.

- Assist project assistants with press solicitation.

- Assist the artistic director in restructuring the company’s business plan.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:
 

- Experience in arts administration, strategic market planning, computer literacy in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), WordPress, Google Docs (Adobe Acrobat a plus).
- Ability to work with different personality types, multiple businesses and organizations, and under deadlines is essential.
- Enthusiastic, creative, innovative and a self-starter
- Professional writing and correspondence experience
- Experience and/or training in the given internship responsibilities
