Seeking 3 Female Dancers for Film Project

Photo Still from Premier Performance Christian Ginarte

I am an emerging choreographer looking for three female dancers to work with for a filmed piece I will be using for my choreographers reel, shooting in January/February. Date: TBD. It is a very old piece that I will be reworking into a more complex and sophisticated work, the original I created while at college you can see the clip below. I have a BA in Theater Arts and Dance and use theatrical elements within my work. I have worked with artists such as Shira E, and have an eclectic mix of performance credits. My choreographic style is based in modern and contemporary so I am looking for dancers who have strong backgrounds in both, as well as strong emotional quality within their work. Acting training a plus.

I fuse my dancers’ individual physicality’s and movement styles with my own choreography to create an authentic piece and coach them through exercises in order to pull them through the emotional journey of the work. I believe that dance is an extension and reflection of humanity and therefore must be just as complex.  Dancers will need to be available once a week for rehearsal staring in December (can be flexible for the Holidays and will be determined based on everyone’s availability).

Compensation

Film shoot: Dancers will each get $50 pay per day, plus full access to professional footage for your own use. Rehearsals Unpaid.

Opportunity to perform in other pieces down the road. Pay will range from $25-$100 per performance (Compensation will vary depending on budget and travel).
