New original play seeks competent dancers!

Description of play and show dates.

Hello dancers!

We need you! We're casting at least four women and four men to perform in a powerful original play about slavery and the abolitionist movement in the 1850s, called NORTHBOUND. All ethnicities welcome.

I will be teaching a ballet combination and a contemporary/African combination. You'll perform these and improvise a little, and then we'll be in touch! No pay, but a whole lot of performance nights and credit in the program, of course. I have read the script and can say that it is extremely well-written, and we've cast amazing actors. The movement combinations taught at the audition will become the show opener - a Victorian classical couples dance - and a contemporary/African expressive piece performed at the end of Act II, respectively.

Audition: WEDNESDAY 1/25 at 1:30pm, at THEATER FOR THE NEW CITY, 155 1ST AVENUE.

Performs Feb. 9-26, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 3pm. PLEASE EMAIL kvaghenas@gmail.com with resumes and headshots. Hope to see you on Wednesday!
