Seeking Male or Female Dancer for new work (Paid performances)

Nazmo Dance Collective is seeking one dancer to join our process. Must be available for a performance on April 23rd at Green Space in LIC and residencty at The Silo April 3-6. Other residencies and performances are TBD. I am seeking someone who is interested in a collaborative process. There will be a lot of play in rehearsals for the next few weeks to allow the piece to develop. Rehearsals will be about 2-5 hours per week during the day. Days and times are flexible. Performances are paid. Some rehearsals are paid.

About Nazmo Dance Collective: Nazmo Dance Collective creates and performs original work by artistic director and founder Danielle Kipnis. Formed to promote innovative dance performance by pushing the boundaries of conventional movement, Nazmo Dance Collective has captured national attention through its interdisciplinary, collaborative, and site-specific works for Art Basel, at the New World Symphony and Gibney Dance Center. Danielle’s dance films have been presented at several film festivals including, Cucalorus, ScreenDance Miami, and Dance on Camera in Lincoln Center. The Collective uses movement to cultivate conversation regarding personal, social, and political relationships and perspectives.
About Danielle Kipnis (Artistic Director): Danielle Kipnis is a New York native and founder of Nazmo Dance Collective. Danielle has performed and presented work at Lincoln Center, Jacob’s Pillow, Gibney Dance Center, Center for Performance Research, The New World Symphony, Ailey Studios, for Art Basel Miami, HATCH presenting series, at Harlem Repertory Theater, and the West End Theater. Danielle’s dance films have been presented at Dance on Camera, Cucalorus and ScreenDance Miami. Her films received awards for “Best Experimental Film” at O Cinema and third prize for “Best Film” at ScreenDance Miami in 2015. Danielle received her BS in Dance and English from Northwestern University in 2012 and was invited into the Doug Varone “Devices” choreographic mentorship program in 2016. She has also worked with and performed works by Billy Seigenfeld and The Jump Rhythm Jazz Project, Molly Shanahan/Mad Shak, Annie Bessera and Striding Lion, Jeff Hancock, Chet Walker, Bill Hastings and Dana Moore.
