Actor/Dancers needed for NYC Festival

 
MEDUSA

 

Currently seeking 3 actor/dancers for MEDUSA; a new ten-minute play by William Hugel, which will show during the NYC Midtown International Theater Festival in July. 

 

Auditions: 

Tuesday June 6, 10a-1p

Please prepare a short dramatic monologue under 1 minute and a short movement phrase to demonstrate your range of motion. (This can be dance, combat, gymnastics, anything you choose. Think outside the box, we just want to see how you connect to moving your body in the space.)

 

A short group movement phrase may be taught at end of audition so please be prepared to stay until the end and dress accordingly. 

 

Casting the following roles:

 

Medusa:

Female, any age. Queen, monster, harbinger of a new age. 

-movement or dance background strongly preferred 

 

Eliza:

Female, any age. Medusa’s “daughter,” determined to return to her rightful place. Agile. 

 

Perseus:

Male, any age. Concubine, woman slayer, logician, witch burner. 

-movement or dance background required

 

 

Production Duration:

June 21-July 16 

First read will take place on June 21st. 

Performances are July 15th and 16th. 

 

This is a non-paying gig therefore rehearsals will be limited and reasonable.
