Job Description:

The Isadora Duncan Dance Foundation (IDDF) seeks one Dance Instructor (full-time) at the Duncan Dance Academy in Shenzhen, China. The Duncan Dance Academy (DDA) is an affiliate school of the IDDF, both under the artistic direction of Lori Belilove. All classes are taught in English.

 

Job Responsibilities:

Report to Artistic Director
Follow the online curriculum and teach the dance of Isadora Duncan to children ages 3-18
Stage showcase (3-5 minutes) in the Duncan style for annual student recital
Communicate with parents
Attend staff meetings
Educate staff, students, and parents on the dance of Isadora Duncan
Assist with the DDA’s promotional activities
Other duties as assigned

 

Requirements/Qualifications:

Certification in Basic Studies of the Dance of Isadora Duncan*
Bachelor’s degree in Dance, Dance Education, or other related fields, Duncan training a plus
5+ years of relevant work experience
Willingness to move to China for 1+ year(s) a must
Knowledge of the Chinese language and/or culture a plus

Compensation:

Salary commensurate with experience
Round-trip, economy class airfare from/to home country to/from China

Annual physical exam (for those who have worked at the DDA for 1+ year(s) only)

Note: This compensation package is offered by the Duncan Dance Academy and is subject to change. In addition, the DDA will assist qualified candidate in applying for a work permit in China.
