Gaynor Minden Boutique Fitter

Our logo.

Gaynor Minden has an opening for a Pointe Shoe Fitter in our Chelsea Boutique.

You would be joining a dedicated team of dancers and ex-dancers who work together to provide outstanding customer service to a wide variety of ballerinas. Duties include conducting first-time pointe shoe fittings, engaging in online and phone consultations, and representing the Gaynor Minden brand at events throughout New York City.

The open position is part-time and requires consistent availability for 8-hour shifts Friday through Monday, but could lead to full-time employment.  This is an entry-level position which gives dancers the opportunity to explore a more business-oriented side of ballet.  Many of our senior staffers started by working in our Boutique.

Assets of a successful candidate are:

Strong knowledge of ballet and pointework
Ability to multi-task while paying close attention to detail
Great interpersonal skills
Comfort working as a team
Patience and a sense of humor
Foreign languages (especially Spanish and Portuguese) and past retail experience are a plus

Please submit your resume and cover letter to jobs@dancer.com.
