STREB is dedicated to supporting and performing the work of choreographer Elizabeth Streb at its home space, the STREB LAB for ACTION MECHANICS (SLAM) in Williamsburg, Brooklyn and on tour throughout the world and to bringing the audience and community into the artistic process by breaking down barriers to participation and access with new approaches to creation, education and presentation.

The Director of Development will lead the overall development strategy to support the expansion and reach of STREB. A new position in the organization, the Director is based at SLAM and will build out the overall development function.  The Director of Development reports to the Co-Executive Directors.   

Responsibilities

Develop and execute STREB’s annual fundraising plan.

Secure and grow financial support from individuals, foundations, corporations and government.

Produce STREB’s annual benefit gala.

Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with major donors.

Create and execute a strategy for large sustained base of annual individual donors.

Oversee organization of special events.

Develop and track grant proposals and reports for all foundation, corporate and government fundraising.

Oversee staff responsible for data entry and gift processing.

Work collaboratively with a diverse and energetic team.

Qualifications

3-5 years demonstrated successful experience in fundraising and development, working for a cultural organization preferred.

Demonstrated excellence in organizational and managerial skills.

Proficiency in data tracking systems.

Outstanding inter-personal and communication skills able to share STREB’s mission, vision and purpose to a wide range of stakeholders and constituencies.

Able to work in a fast paced environment, supporting the Co-Executive Directors, Artistic Director and board of directors in overall strategy and planning while also leading day-to-day development operation.

Proven leadership skills and demonstrated professional innovation.
