Train To Disaster
Michael Bishop
Description: This piece is inspired by the individual and collective paths people take that lead to destruction, hatred and the fall of a nation. The turning a blind eye to the obvious to only later see the affects of it explode in your face. I was driven to create this piece as a response to our current society. We live in a world where people would rather ignore danger than try to stop it, where people would rather post about danger than become the helper in the situation. How can we combat this as a nation, a world? I dont really know the answer. I am creating this piece as a study in a hope that a solution will come of it.
I am looking for about 4-5 dancers total for this piece. I am looking to pay a small stipend for performance. I want to start rehearsal ASAP. Dancers need to be highly trained (ballet, contemporary ballet and modern bakground), great learners, able to do partnering work. Must be able to attend all rehearsals.
