ALL QUEENS-BASED CULTURAL DANCES AND DANCE STYLES WELCOME!

 

Now in its 5th year, the Queensboro Dance Festival is an annual 6-month tour of 20+ performances

and events throughout Queens theaters, parks, plazas, streets, and more.  QDF is dedicated to presenting

Queens-based cultural and contemporary dance groups of all styles.  Our mission is to strengthen the

dance community in Queens and garner a greater appreciation for Queens dance.

 

TOUR:  May 10 – October 14

 

Upon selection, participating companies receive:

~$1000 space grant at Queens Theatre for each participating dance company
~FREE to apply, FREE to participate
~Unique opportunity to dance throughout and see Queens
~Some performance venues have special creative options
~Access to free and discounted rehearsal space
~Free master classes
~QDF Class Xchange: paid opportunities to teach and take free dance class from fellow participants
~QM3 initiative:  Queens Movers + Musicians Making, a new program cultivating collaborations between Queens musicians & dancers
~Networking events & parties to meet other Queens artists and resources
~Special access to various Queens arts institutions
~Chance to connect with the Queens dance community and your neighborhoods
~Video and photo footage
