Pictures (1984) Weekend Intensive

April 21 - 22, 2018 (Saturday 1:30pm - 6:30pm, Sunday 11am - 5pm)

This weekend intensive workshop incorporates technique class, repertory and an examination of Merce’s choreographic ideas. Chosen for its meditative use of the still image and shape, participants will learn the underlying structures and excerpted movement material from the dance Pictures. With the accompanying choreographic notes and some exercises for practical use of chance procedures as a starting point, participants will create their own short dances in response.

There is no audition, application, or cost for the workshop. To register for the intensive, please email rsvp@mercecunningham.org by April 20.
