Rovaco Dance: Male Dancer Audition on Sunday, June 3rd!

Rovaco Dance is looking for one male performer for their 2018-19 season! Commitments and perks include: 

--> Weekly Paid Rehearsals on Tuesday and Wednesday nights between 7-10pm

--> Creation of new work premiering at LaGuardia Performing Arts Center in Spring 2019 as part of CUNY Dance Initiative 

--> Paid tour/summer intensive in Vermont, NY from June 25th - June 30th (all expenses covered). 

--> Potential tour to Houston, Texas from October 22nd -29th (all expenses covered)

--> Tisch Alumni Workshop on Saturday June 23rd and Sunday July 1st in Manhattan, NY

--> Performance on Saturday, July 28th in Manhattan, NY

We understand that conflicts arise with rehearsals/performances/tours. You will not be expected to be available for every commitment, but we will encourage you to give priority when possible. As a company, we plan our performances and tours well in advance, so you can work around it! The company will be off from August 23rd - September 23rd, more performances/opportunities will be added for Fall 2018 and Spring 2019.

Audition Details

Date: Sunday, June 3rd from 4-8pm

Location: Gibney Dance, 280 Broadway

Callback Date: Wednesday, June 6th between 7-10pm

Once we have reviewed your materials, selected applicants will be given an audition slot (either 4pm or 6pm) within 7 days!

What We Are Looking For

The company currently has 4 dancers and we are looking to add one more to the mix! Ideal candidates should have experience in ballet, modern, contemporary, and floorwork techniques. Athletic dancers with acting and contemporary partnering skills encouraged to apply. We are a professional company and all members are expected to be responsible, committed, and easy to work with. Our process is highly collaborative and the rehearsal environment is relaxed and comfortable, but we are a focused group continuously creating new work. If you are interested in innovation, experimentation, and theatrical work then this is the right fit for you! The mission of the company is to create art that is bold, accessible, and engaging. We are interested in telling stories through movement.
