KoDaFe in NYC 2018 Master class/ Audition!!

i KADA Dance is in preparation for our annual international dance festival, KoDaFe in NYC on June 29th and 30th, 2018 at Ailey Citigroup Theater. On June 25th, i KADA is also hosting Master Classes in conjunction with KoDaFe in NYC.  We consider it essential to raise and nurture young dancers by delivering as much diversity in their training as possible, and so this is why we felt the importance of creating a day of master classes as a part of KoDaFe in NYC.  

Beth Jucovy/Dance Visions NY class and Audition!!

*Master class! Isadora Duncan Principles, Technique and Repertory

Participants will explore the timeless principles and technique of the great dance innovator, Isadora Duncan, and the class will help dancers draw connections to their own practice.  Class begins with a supportive warm-up that enlivens the body and emphasizes the unity of mind, body and spirit. Structured improvisation, a strong component of the class, will encourage finding and refining one's own authentic movement inclinations within this context. Duncan Dance repertory will be shared, and participants will receive support in exploring their unique and organic interpretation of the movements and the themes.

*Auditions! Looking for approximately five and tall female dancers to be part of a work for Stylepointe to be presented on Sept. 4 and Sept 13th during Fashion week. Must be available starting in July.

10 AM – 12 PM    i KADA Contemporary Dance Company (Class can also function as a preliminary audition for i KADA Annual Show)

1 PM – 2:30 PM   Dance Visions NY: Isadora Duncan based Master-class (Class can also function as a preliminary audition for a work that the company is creating for StylePointeNYC) 

3 PM – 4:30 PM   Enzo Celli/VIVO Ballet (Master class)

4:30 PM – 6 PM   Discussion Session (We invited KoDaFe in NYC 2018 choreographers to participate in the discussion (Q&A) from 4:30-6pm. The purpose is to provide new and young dancers professional advice into the dance industry)
