Ephrat Asherie Dance (EAD) seeks a creative, independent, and passionate individual to join the administrative team this fall. The EAD Intern will support the Company Manager and Artistic Director/Choreographer in administrative duties related to the Company’s 2018 - 2019 National Tour of Odeon. Strong candidates must possess strong communication, writing, and design skills must be extremely self-motivated and organized.

Ephrat Asherie Dance is a dance company rooted in street and social dance. Dedicated to revealing the inherent complexities of these forms, EAD explores the expansive narrative qualities of various street and club styles including breaking, hip hop and house, as a means to tell stories, develop innovative imagery, and find new modes of expression. EAD’s first evening-length work, A Single Ride, earned two Bessie nominations in 2013 for Outstanding Emerging Choreographer and Outstanding Sound Design by Marty Beller. The company has presented work at The Apollo Theater, Dixon Place, FiraTarrega, Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival, La MaMa, LMCC’s River to River Festival, New York Live Arts, Summerstage, The Yard,  and The New Victory Theater, among others. www.ephratasheriedance.com

Responsibilities:

Design, manage, and create content for EAD’s Facebook and Instagram pages
Update the EAD website weekly with new information - schedule updates, news, photos, and press materials
Assist the Company Manager in the creation of company tour books and schedules for each tour location
Archival of press releases, articles, photographs and video
Assist in open rehearsals or other NYC-based events as available/as needed
Organization and upkeep of internal filing system

 

Requirements:

Must reside in or around New York City, with the ability to meet weekly in Lower Manhattan or Brooklyn.
Must be able to work up to 10 hours per week.
Must have a strong interest in Arts Administration and the NYC dance community.
