NACHMO challenges choreographers, dancers, and movement enthusiasts to create new dance work each January. We host events, post choreographic prompts to social media, and facilitate ways for participants to meet, network and collaborate. In February we produce shows to share the newly made dances with the public and give choreographers a chance to get structured feedback. We seek to build a strong, inclusive, and active community of dance makers - we hope you’ll join us!

Studio Shows

NACHMO NYC choreographers can enter a lottery to present their work in 5 studio showings at the Mark Morris Dance Center. We can accommodate up to 50 choreographers, who will be chosen by random lottery and can confirm their spot by paying the $15 performance fee. You can enter the lottery at www.nachmo.org/shows starting January 1st.

Theater Shows

NACHMO will host two theater shows at the Mark O'Donnell Theater at the Actors Fund Arts Center on February 22 at 8pm and February 23 at 3pm. These are fully produced and curated shows, with choreographers chosen from among the studio shows. Tech rehearsal is the day of the show. There’s a $30 performance fee that includes professional photos from tech and video from the show.
