QBC Company is a New York-based contemporary dance company founded by Queens Ballet Center and directed by Tsai Hsi Hung. It is a versatile ensemble drawing on a wide range of influences from traditional Chinese dance to modern contemporary. Hung's choreography reflects her experience as a dancer, painter, and stage designer and has been performed throughout the United States as well as China, Taiwan, and Australia. Her work explores the nature of opposing forces, where the dancers represent aspects of a person's mind or the conflict inherent in relationships. This is depicted on the cosmic level as well, in larger scale pieces that invoke a feeling of ritual.
