Seeking Older Dancers For New Retro Jazz Dance Company

Company Logo FREESTYLE Dance Company

FREESTYLE is a newly-forming New Jersey-based dance company that will perform to old-school Freestyle music, such as music by Shannon, Lisa Lisa, Debbie Deb, Cynthia, Judy Torres, Expose, Taylor Dayne, etc., choreographed to old-school Jazz Dance.

We are looking for older dancers, male/female, who trained in Jazz Dance during the 80's/90's and have a strong desire to dance again.  We are willing to "re-train" interested dancers so you can get your "stuff back."  However, dancers must fill the following requirements:

Requirements:

*Dancers must have had at least 2 years of Jazz Dance training

*Dancers must be dedicated to our dance company

*Dancers must be willing and able to work hard and put in the hours required for the success of this company

*Dancers must be energetic

*Dancers must attend all rehearsals and performances

Audition/rehearsals will be held in Clifton, NJ.  As we are working adults, rehearsals will be scheduled to accommodate working schedules.  This is a paid position.  Dancers will receive payment per performance.  Amount of monetary compensation is dependent on what is earned per performance.

Audition:

In-Person audition date: TBA

Audition By Video: you may audition via video (video does not have to be professional, just good quality for us to see you clearly) by submitting a 1 to 2 minute Jazz Dance piece choreographed to a Freestyle song of your choice (please DO NOT submit Modern Dance choreography!).

Submissions:

Submit ALL of the following for consideration (unless otherwise specified):

*Dance Resume (if you have it).  If not, submit a cover letter with your dance training information.

*Headshot/Picture

*Dance Video link (if you have a video).  If you do not have a video, selected dancers will receive an in-person audition date.

Send your submissions to: freestylejazzdancecompany@gmail.com
