KGDDance Company Auditions: Male and Female Dancers

Production Still from Short Film "Entrapment" Katie Paiva

We are looking for some fierce female and male modern/contemporary dancers to join our company and perform in our upcoming show Difficult Women (based on the stories found in Roxane Gay's book). We start rehearsing late May and the show will be going up early December.

KGDDance is a modern contemporary, brooklyn-based dance company that focuses on exploring truthful female-centric artistic narratives. We are looking for dancers who can grow with the company, as we explore these stories through the mediums of stage, film and immersive theater. We are seeking dancers with a strong background in modern or contemporary dance. Must have great technique and performative skills. A background in acting a plus. Must have performance experience, have great work ethic and communication skills and be extremely proffessional.

All ethnicities are encouraged to apply.

Rehearsals are unpaid (2-4 hours per week), however dancers get $50 stipend per performance. As company grows and receives more funding stipend rates will go up. And dancers will have access to all footage from film projects.

The Audition will take place on Saturday May 18th, from 6:15pm-8pm. Sign-in starts at 6pm. The location is at Movement Research's new Ninth Street Studio, inside the 122 Community Center: 150 1st Avenue (on the corner of 1st Avenue and Ninth Street).

The Audition will be comprised of a short guided movement improv and learning choreography.

What ot Bring: Headshot and resume (stapled together), general availability for the summer and fall months, clothes to dance in, no dance shoes needed.

Take a look at our website www.kgddance.com to get a better idea of our movement style. If you are interested in auditioning or have any questions please email Katya Danko at kgddanceco@gmail.com
