High Line Art and Ligia Lewis are seeking dancers for an upcoming work to be presented on the High Line in late July 2019. The work is an hour-long performance for six dancers, and is centered around these bodies performing a minimal, however dynamic score, composed of embodiments derived from the iconic singer/songstress. The work is a new iteration of Lewis's 2011 work, Sensation 1, now reimagined for 6 performers. For this High Line iteration, Lewis expands the work into an ecstatic choreographed form, dissolving the singular gesture of the iconic pop diva into a collective experience.

Performance dates: July 23, 24, 25, 2019
Rehearsal dates: July 15 - 22, 2019

To apply to perform in this work, please send a brief note of interest and dance background, your availability during the dates listed, and a documentation of you performing (excerpts are totally fine!) to melanie.kress@thehighline.org.

We look forward to hearing from you!
