RudduR Dance is looking for male and female dancers of the African Diaspora for RudduRDance’s ‘19/’20 season.  Dancers should have professional experience, excellent modern, ballet, and partnering technique. Aerial work is a plus but not required.  Applicants should be prepared to work at a high technical and artistic level, be a responsible group member, and be open to working collaboratively with fellow artists as we are preparing for a residency at the New Victory Theater and national and international touring.

Selfcare while attempting to reach the maximum potential of oneself as a performing artist is paramount. RudduR Dance is tackling America’s current racial climate.  Some of the topics that the Company is delving deeply into are:

- The dehumanizing brutality of slavery in America;

- The joys and fears of bearing and raising black children in America today;

- The disparity in the criminal justice system;

- How to work collectively towards a more just and equitable future.

Applicants should be aware of the sensitive nature of the works and the psychological and physical demands of exploring and depicting them.

To be considered please send your resume, headshot and performance reel to Audition@RudduRDance.com. Use “Fall season submission” as subject line.  We will reach out to selected applicants to discuss further steps.

In order to fulfill this engagement you MUST be a US Citizen or have a valid work visa, a resident of New York City, a valid passport holder (or willing to purchase one) ideally expiring after 1/1/2022, willing to be vaccinated.  In order to fulfill this engagement you MUST NOT be a student.  Artists MUST be available for all rehearsals, performances, and tours beginning 10/1/2019 through 6/21/2020.
