SEEKING DANCERS FOR A PLAY WITH DANCE

EXPORT QUALITY: Monologues (loosely) Based on True Stories of Mail-Order Brides from the Philippines is a new play with dance telling the stories of four Filipinas, across different times, whose lives are forever changed by the circumstances of their marriages. The piece also utilizes technology, a unique chorus of brides, and other interactive elements to engage the audience and explore the characters inner life and past and present identities. Seeking to raise awareness and inspire collective action, Export Quality is written in community, for community.

We are seeking dancers, or actors with movement background, preferably of Asian decent for a workshop process. Performers who identify as TGNC (Transgender and Gender Non-Conforming) are strongly encouraged to submit. Performers will be exploring contemporary improvised movement, as well as traditional Philippine cultural dance. Performers will also be embodying different characters of various ages and gender identities and speaking some text. This new work directed and choreographed by Jesca Prudencio, and produced by Loose Change productions in NYC.
To submit, please email your headshot and resume or bio, along with any links to video of past work by November 1st. We will contact you with more information.
