Audition notice

On March 22nd at Manhattan Movement Arts located at 248 w 60th st New York Ny 10023. In studio 3 and 4.

Emotions physical theatre is in search of six male and female dancers for its up coming season of New York state tour, dancer for the camera project and a possible international performance. We are looking for dancers who are the right fit for the company and its work. Dancers must be proficient in non pointe’ ballet work and contemporary dance styles. The movement is dynamic, technical and athletic therefore dancers must conformable moving in and out of the floor and performing inversions. Dancers will be asked to speak and deliver monologues with in the work. Rehearsal and class will be held Fridays 10am - 1pm and Saturdays from 2:00pm - 5:00pm at dance wave in Brooklyn NYC . Also dancers are required to attend a paid ($300.00 for the Week ) dance retreat in Warwick, NY (housing and daily lunch is provided). At this retreat you will receive daily class either a ballet or a modern class plus learn the bulk of the show. Dancers are required to attend all rehearsals and classes. In class dancers will learn the Emotions Physical Theatre technique. In classes dancers will get warm, perform exercises that informs the work and lastly explore emotion and character development.

The audition will begin with a short ballet bar and a ballet center combo

then a cut

Next dancers will learn a Contemporary dance combo

then a cut

Dancers will learn a second Contemporary dance combo

then a cut

Remaining dancers will go through monologues and character work.
