The Nantucket Atheneum Dance Festival is the main fundraiser for the local Atheneum library. The annual dance festival invites the best of ballet - dancers, musicians, and choreographers - to the island for cultural programming and high caliber dance that enhances the community and connects the island to dance normally only seen in major cities. In a new effort to expand our programming, we are accepting submissions of your work to be commissioned for the 2021 festival. The Festival Artistic Committee will review all submissions, and decide on a winner together with guest judges Nicole Taney (Director of Artistic Planning and Operations - Spoleto Festival USA) and Benjamin Millepied (former New York City Ballet principal dancer, former Director of the Paris Opera Ballet, and co-founder and Artistic Director of the Los Angeles Dance Project).
