Our mission with the Merde Project is to support choreographers that want to take a risk. And creating/presenting work during a pandemic is quite the risk. But, your stories still need to be seen. We are seeking 6 choreographers who want to develop their next idea into a dance film. The Merde Project will provide an online platform for the final film to be presented in two live premiere events on February 5 and 6, 2021. Each choreographer will receive a $400 honorarium, and we will also be providing camera rental and feedback of the editing as desired. To be eligible, choreographers must have presented a work in the past two years, but no dance filming experience is required. Application opens September 7, 2020 and close September 24, 2020 at midnight PT.

We will be offering a ZOOM info meeting Thursday Sept 10, at 5:30 PM PST to share info about the program, and answer any questions about the Merde Project application, process, or what you should expect working in partnership with us.
