The AXIS Choreo-Lab, held on May 5th - 14th, will be virtual in 2021 due to COVID-19.
The Virtual Lab offers an 8-day inclusive environment where established, disabled artist/mentors guide their peers to challenge boundaries and create perception changing art. The Virtual Lab provides professional development in addition to the space, dancers, and administrative support for every choreographer. This opportunity also includes ongoing mentorship and professional development support in the months following the Lab.
Application deadline is Feb 17th, 2021.

Please note that you must be a US- based disabled choreographer in order to be considered. You will also need a reliable computer and WiFi in order to participate in the Virtual Lab. In addition, you will need to be available for the full duration of the Virtual Lab.

This year's Virtual Lab will be co-mentored by fellow Choreo-Lab alum Alice Sheppard, Artistic Director of Kinetic Light. Sheppard alongside Artistic Director Marc Brew will guide the four choreographers through the virtual experience.

If you have any questions regarding the application process of the Virtual Choreo-Lab, please reach out to Community Engagement Manager Mark Travis Rivera at Engagement@axisdance.org.
