Description:

Black Dance Change Makers is seeking two Spring / Summer 2023 Interns to work remotely, 8-10 hours per week from February - August.

Founded in 2020, Black Dance Change Makers is a social platform designed to unite and uplift Black-identifying dancers through leadership, service, education, and community building. In under three years, we have hosted more than 100 events, connecting more than 100 Black dancers, including students, performers, educators, choreographers, directors, photographers, filmmakers, and writers.

We are in a deep phase of internal reconstruction, and as we move into our next phase of strategic planning, we are looking to expand the BDCM Team with two Spring / Summer intern positions.

We imagine the ideal candidate is a current student seeking college credit or a recent college/conservatory graduate with a strong passion for dance and social change and interests in business, marketing, social media, or community organizing.

We recognize that everyone in our community doesn't have access or interest higher education at the university or conservatory level, so although college experience is desired, it is not required to apply for this position.

Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:

- Being an active member of Black Dance Change Makers

- Attending bi-weekly team meetings with the BDCM Team

Attending bi-weekly meetings with the BDCM Founder / Creative Executive Officer

Assisting in organizing and coordinating appointments with the BDCM Team

Drafting, sending and responding to emails with community partners on behalf of BDCM

Drafting newsletters to the BDCM membership and greater community

Assisting in Social Media ideation, curation, and management of accounts.

Please complete the application form here: https://forms.gle/f1w1ZhNNd96cxaza7

You will be asked to share a statement of interest and submit a resume.

Pay Transparency:

BDCM is currently a fully volunteer-led organization, and we cannot offer compensation for this position at this time. As we continue to grow, there may be the possibility of payment in the future. We recognize and name that taking an unpaid position is a privilege many Black folx don't have. We are committed to flexibility and other means of resource sharing, which will be discussed and negotiated during the application process.
