The Wooster Group, an experimental theater and media company, seeks a hands-on person to serve as the company's technical director.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: assist the Wooster Group design and technical teams with new and repertory work both in New York and on tour.

The ideal candidate will have broad technical skills, including CAD drawing (Vectorworks a plus), as well as basic rigging, carpentry and electrics. The TD must also be available for night/weekend work when needed; and enjoy a flexible, collaborative environment.

The TD will also assist with the technical requirements for visiting artists and special events at The Performing Garage, the company’s black-box theater; work with Facilities Manager and Production Manager to maintain in-house equipment, make technical orders and purchases.

Additional assets, but not required: experience with freight logistics and the ability to drive a truck and forklift. This is a full-time salaried position with benefits, including three weeks paid vacation, additional time off as schedules allow, medical, dental, and vision benefits and more.
