Versatility is key when it comes to Gotham Dance Theater (GDT). We specialize in street jazz, contemporary, hip-hop, and dance theater. Seeking strong, versatile dancers and/or apprentices for our upcoming annual Summer Suite. Professional dancers must be 18 years of age or older. 

Under the direction of Marc Nuñez, GDT company members learn new choreography every season and re-stage company repertory.  GDT performances include, but are not limited to: evening length stage production, outdoor festivals, community events, and dance films. Gotham Dance Theater's "Summer Suite 5.0: World-bound 7 Train" is an upbeat, joy-filled street jazz, contemporary, and hip-hop dance medley set to music in multiple languages reflective of our company dancers. This set will take you on a dance journey along the 7 train through the world's most diverse borough: Queens.

GDT's 5th Annual Summer Suite

• Community-oriented, free to the public performances and community classes
• Various outdoor locations throughout Queens and Manhattan
• Weekly Rehearsals from May 1 - July 21 (Mondays 5:30-8:30pm & Fridays 12:00-3:00pm)
• Seeking dancers proficient in jazz, contemporary, and hip-hop; experience in global dance styles a plus (i.e. Bollywood, Latin, Dabke)
• Dancers residing in Queens also a plus
• Performance schedule will be released to selected dancers for audition

Compensation

Between $200-900 per dancer dependent on number of performances, rehearsals, and other work. Breakdown is as follows:

• $50 per performance (7-8 minute dance set)
• $100 choreographer stipend
• $10 rehearsal per diem
• $10 travel stipend for inaccessible performance locations
• Minimum $20 costume/shoe stipend
• Additional compensation for dance captain and teaching company or community classes
• Rain Out - performance compensation provided if there is a sudden cancellation of an outdoor performance due to weather within 24 hours
• GDT T-Shirt and media materials provided throughout the season (i.e. headshot photoshoot, professional performance photos and videos, etc.)
