School Director

Position Overview:

The School Director oversees the overall operations of the school and has the overall responsibility for the teaching faculty, assistant teachers, family and students’ of the school and the physical facility. The School Director plans and helps execute the development of the school curriculum, Enrichment programming, and organizes and oversees all school performances and programs. The School Director teaches within the Young Movers and Enrichment/Outreach Programs. The School Director helps the organization and foundation achieve its educational goals and mission.

 

The School Director will:

-Maintain a relationship with all Steffi families to help give each dancer a personalized plan for their training at Steffi Nossen.
-Guide and support Faculty in continuing to develop their yearly Young Movers curriculum with new ideas and strategies and work with the Artistic Director and Executive Director to develop yearly curriculum for Core and Technique programs.
-Assure that the school enrollment continues to grow annually by analyzing and adapting the programs, marketing and faculty.
-Develop and produce the Children’s Concert and Annual Concert themes, costumes, theater, lighting designer, videographer, etc.
-Develop and manage all Summer Camps an Intensives offered in the school.
-Development of Enrichment Programming through Outreach efforts, StoryBook in Libraries, Pre-K programs, After-School classes with local Elementary Schools, etc.
-Teach with in the Young Movers, Library and Nursery School programs throughout the School year and Summer.

 

Position Responsibilities:

General Management

-Manages with Artistic Director and Executive Director all teaching Faculty and Accompanists, including recruitment & the hiring process.
-Oversees All Young Movers Curriculum Development and the growth of each program.
-Works with Artistic Director and Executive Director in development of Core and Technique Curriculum, overall benchmarks and goals.
-Manages the Student Assistant program.
-Organizes student recommendations annually.
-Maintains a positive and helpful relationship with the Parents & Students of the school.
-Oversees the care and upkeep of the physical facility.

 

Program Responsibilities:

-Supervises Steffi Nossen School programs including Enrichment Outreach programs, all summer camps and yearly classes.
-Organizes, develops and oversees both the Annual Concert and The Children’s Concert.
-Manages the yearly registration process.
-Plans and Oversees the Class Schedule and Calendar in coordination with the Artistic Director and Executive Director.
-Works with Executive Director and Marketing Coordinator to develop Marketing Plan.

 

Development Responsibilities:

-Develop enrollment growth in the school.
-Meet the budget expectations given by the Executive Director and Board of Directors.
-Research and Develop new Enrichment Outreach programs for Steffi to participate in.

 

30 weekly hours in the school with the possibility of additional teaching hours within the Young Movers Program at the Conservatory and teaching opportunities in Enrichment programs through our Outreach classes in Westchester County.

 

Salary range: $40,000 - $50,000
