Job Listing: Project Manager for Danse Theatre Surreality’s Shadowboxing in Blue

About Us:
Danse Theatre Surreality (DTS) is a bi-national dance and theatre company based in Brooklyn and Paris, dedicated to promoting intersectional gender equity in the performing arts. Our innovative performances combine disciplines such as dance, boxing, and original music to create socially impactful and artistically daring work. Our upcoming project, Shadowboxing in Blue, is a 60-minute, immersive performance exploring themes of resilience and inner adversaries, set to premiere in spring 2025.

Position Overview:
We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented Project Manager to join our team and oversee the production and programming of Shadowboxing in Blue. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in arts administration, excellent communication skills, and the ability to coordinate complex, multidisciplinary projects. A passion for the performing arts and social impact is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage project timelines, schedules, and budgets for Shadowboxing in Blue.
Coordinate communication between collaborators, including dancers, musicians, boxers, and production staff.
Ensure adherence to rehearsal schedules and milestone deadlines.
Act as the central point of contact for stakeholders, including venues, community partners, and sponsors.
Oversee logistics for rehearsals, workshops, and performances, including venue booking and equipment setup.
Facilitate clear and collaborative communication while maintaining alignment with DTS’s mission.

What We’re Looking For:

Experience managing complex performing arts projects or similar initiatives.
Proven ability to work with diverse teams across disciplines.
Familiarity with community engagement and nonprofit work is a plus.
Commitment to promoting inclusivity and gender equity.
A proactive problem-solver with excellent organizational skills.

How would you handle a situation where a collaborator misses a critical deadline, potentially jeopardizing the timeline?
