Do you have a teaching heart for the Absolute Beginner Adult Ballet Student? City Ballet Studio is a place for adult dancers, with or without experience, to foster a love of ballet and a freedom of self-expression. Classes are created for dancers to build and refine their technique in a positive, constructive setting. We believe every body is a ballet body and all that someone needs to do ballet is a willing spirit and desire to try something new.

 

We are seeking an instructor with a strong ballet background who takes an interest in their student's lives in and out of the studio, fosters community in class, and ensures a safe space for adults to explore the ballet technique without fear or shame while maintaining a high technical standard and effectively communicate how to apply technique to each individual's anatomy.

 

You would be a good fit if you:

- Have experience and teaching ballet class to adults and/or teens with little to no ballet training

- Welcomes all body types and acknowledges that ballet technique looks different on everyone

- Possess strong communication skills

- Are detail oriented and organized

- Are punctual and reliable

 

Classes take place Tuesday evenings from 6-8pm. Instructor would take over already existing timeslots starting summer 2025. A degree in dance pedagogy is a plus. Compensation starts at $40 per class.
