Choreographer Miaotian Sun and Accent Dance NYC are seeking professional dancers to create a new work. This new dance work will be inspired by the story of Sanxingdui, a mysteriously abandoned Bronze age archaeological site located in modern Sichuan, China, told through the lens of the site’s archaeologists as well as the ancient people who lived there. The work will explore the connections between modern and ancient peoples, and the importance of protecting cultural heritage and human history.

 

Seeking contemporary dancers with a strong foundation in ballet who are open to collaboration, duet work, and improvisation. Experience in Chinese folk dance is not required, but a willingness to learn and explore these cultural forms is essential. Ideal candidates should have a passion for blending diverse styles and exploring new creative possibilities.   

 

BIPOC and immigrant artists are especially encouraged to apply, though all are welcome.

Audition Date: June 10, 2025, 10AM-1PM

 

The audition will take place in NYC. The location will be shared with those invited to attend the in-person audition.
