Ballaro Dance returns to Rochester, NY to host the annual SEE MOVE SHARE: Dance Intensive & Performance Project!  Calling all Western New York-based artists: join us!

DETAILS: 

+ The day begins with Modern MOVES, a high-energy technique class rooted in American modern dance fundamentals of momentum, suspension, swinging, weight shift, and being both on and off balance; the class also focuses on using a “practice as performance” approach to build expression by connecting ourselves to the space while building community.

+ Post-class, learn an existing piece of Ballaro Dance repertory for performance. 

+ The afternoon is in collaboration with Memento Academy, a photography program featuring local Rochester-based artists. Project work will focus around the theme of "Structures of Stability" incorporating both community-focused, architectural structures and landmarks/buildings that are unique to the Rochester region, and a more personal examination of personal identity and structures of the self. MOVERS will collaborate with visual artists in both large group and one-on-one projects to be shared in an installation performance event on Saturday, August 16. 

+ Both AM (9:30am-12:30pm) and PM (1:30pm-4:30pm) Sessions can perform in the culminating installation event. Full Day and Half Day registration is available.

+ All participants are invited for SHARE: Lunch & Learn, daily from 12:30pm-1:30pm, including collaborative conversations, an introduction to photography skills, and a panel hosted by Rochester-based creatives. 

+ Participants are invited to join for an additional evening networking event with free headshots and/or dance shots taken by Memento Academy program participants. Have ongoing access to these photos and all others taken throughout the collaborative week!
