Paid Workshop Opportunity

Hi!

I'm excited to share a paid opportunity for students ages 16 and up to participate in a new project I'm developing this summer through the Harlem River Artist in Residence program of the Urban Waters Federal Partnership. "Listening With: Harlem River" is a multidisciplinary creative workshop exploring environmental justice through art, movement, storytelling, and community engagement.

This unique experience invites young people to consider the question:
What if nature had rights—and you could help write them?

This immersive series invites participants to engage with the Harlem River through movement, writing, history, and dialogue. Together, we’ll explore the Rights of Nature movement and co-create a Bill of Rights and Responsibilities for the river—centering care, responsibility, and collective imagination.

This workshop is for students interested in:

+Environmental science, ecology, or climate justice

+Poetry, creative writing, and storytelling

+Movement and performance

+Local history and community activism
