Danse Theatre Surreality is seeking interdisciplinary performers for Shadowboxing in Blue, an immersive dance-theatre performance exploring depression and resilience through contemporary dance, boxing, and live music. This October production includes a series of community-based performances with integrated boxing therapy workshops.

We are looking for performers with training or interest in one or more of the following:
– Contemporary dance
– Boxing or martial arts
– Acting or physical theatre
– Live music performance

This is a movement-driven work requiring physical storytelling, emotional expression, and comfort with cross-disciplinary collaboration. BIPOC artists, performers across age groups, and a variety of body types are strongly encouraged to apply.

To be considered, performers must be available for:
– Weekly Thursday rehearsals (morning or afternoon)
– Weekly boxing class (Fridays at 3:30 PM or Saturdays at 11:15 AM – free for cast)
– Saturday performances in October

? If you are unable to attend the audition in person, we welcome virtual submissions. Selected virtual applicants will be invited to a rehearsal as a supplemental audition.
