About ALDEN MOVES:

At ALDEN MOVES, we invite students to adventure into dance-to discover the freedom of movement, the joy of creation, and the artistry of expression. Rooted in classical training and propelled by contemporary exploration, we're reexamining and reinventing the institutional mold to move dance forward-and to show that dance, at its core, is more inclusive than exclusive.

We're seeking a thoughtful, motivated, and creative dance educator to join our faculty as a lead teacher in our Dance Explorers After-School Program for the 2025-2026 school year (September 10-June 17).

This is more than just a gig-it's a chance to grow as an educator, artist, and leader within a mission-driven creative community. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable leading choreography, communicating with parents, and working collaboratively with studio leadership to develop curriculum, guide program growth, and uphold ALDEN MOVES' high standard of education.

- Teach fun, structured, and meaningful dance classes in a variety of styles

- Build short choreography pieces and guide warm-ups within each unit's theme - Collaborate on seasonal curriculum that includes creative exploration and cultural context - Lead crafts tied to dance (costumes, props, sets)-visual arts background is a plus! - Communicate clearly and professionally with parents (emails, flyers, conversations) - Represent the program at community performances (Dance Parade NYC, local fairs, showcases) - Take initiative in program development while staying aligned with the ALDEN MOVES mission - Uphold and contribute to a positive, team-oriented studio culture

You Are:

- A strong dancer and educator with experience teaching children ages 5-10 - Excited by the opportunity to grow a program-not just teach in it

- Comfortable with multiple styles: from ballet to hip hop to cultural/social dance - Creative and organized-with the ability to lead both class and craft

- Proactive, punctual, and clear in your communication

- Tech-literate or willing to learn (Google Docs, Canva, Sawyer, iMovie, Weebly, etc.) - Invested in both the Dance Explorers program and ALDEN MOVES as a whole studio community
