Black Male Dancer/Choreographer for New Play Mama’s Boy

Promotional graphic for the play Mama’s Boy Nyeima Nix

Seeking a Black male dancer (contemporary/modern with strong storytelling ability) to perform in Mama’s Boy, a new play being produced at The Tank this fall.

The play explores themes of family, identity, and social justice. One pivotal scene depicts police brutality, and instead of staging it literally, we are using movement and sound design to convey the emotional impact. The dancer will embody this moment onstage, bringing depth and resonance to the story.

This can be a performance-only role, but there is also an opportunity for the dancer to choreograph the piece if they are interested. Collaboration is welcome, and your artistic voice will be valued.

Tech rehearsals will take place at the Tank on 10/22 at 4pm and 10/25 at 2pm (we can be flexible—performances are the main priority). Performances are confirmed for October 26 & October 27, 2025 at The Tank.
