Board of Directors Recruitment — McKoy Dance Project

McKoy Dance Project (MDP) is seeking four dynamic and committed new Board Members to join us this season.

We are especially looking for leaders with expertise in:

Law (1 seat)

Finance (1 seat)

Development & Fundraising (2 seats)

 

About McKoy Dance Project

Founded in 2019, McKoy Dance Project is a Brooklyn-based nonprofit contemporary dance company and service organization with a mission to break down barriers to access in dance and amplify the voices of BIPOC and queer communities. We create innovative performances, lead community residencies in schools, and build platforms that foster equity, access, and artistic excellence.

 

Who We’re Looking For

We invite applications from passionate individuals who:

Believe in equitable access to the arts and share our commitment to uplifting historically marginalized voices.

Have strong expertise in law, finance, or fundraising/development and can provide strategic guidance in these areas.

Are willing to be active, engaged board members—contributing ideas, networks, and resources to help MDP grow.

Are especially from or connected to BIPOC communities, as representation and equity are central to our mission and board development.

 

Board Member Expectations

Attend quarterly board meetings (virtual or in-person) and participate in at least one committee.

Contribute skills and networks to strengthen MDP’s financial health, legal compliance, and fundraising capacity.

Support MDP’s events, performances, and community initiatives through attendance and advocacy.

Make an annual “give/get” contribution (scaled to capacity) to model leadership in fundraising.
