Casting Call: “The Weight of Worth” — A New Ballet Duet by Karley Wasaff

Artist Statement:
The Weight of Worth explores the anxiety of not feeling “enough” inside the discipline of ballet — the constant return to the struggle, the quiet moments of self-doubt, and the radical act of showing up anyway. It’s about finding presence in the mess and remembering that your version is the right version, because you showed up.

 

Seeking:

-2 professional ballet dancers (BIPOC encouraged) who identify as nonbinary

-Comfortable performing in minimal costuming (binder & underwear).

-Strong classical ballet foundation with comfort in light contemporary or floorwork elements.

-Open to process-driven, emotionally honest exploration and immersive environments

 

Performance Details:

-Venue: POSH HQ, SoHo (location shared upon casting).

-Performance Date: November 20, 2025

-Performance Pay: $200

*Food provided day of show

**OPTIONAL SECOND PAID SHOWING ON DEC 30th at Dixon Place (pay details coming soon)

Rehearsal Details:

-7 rehearsals total (2 hours each)

-$25 per rehearsal ($175 total)

-must be available for rehearsal in downtown bk on
