The 92NY Future Dance Festival is an annual curated festival rooted in a mission to invest in our collective future of dance through uplifting and supporting emerging artists. The Festival connects the next generation of choreographers and dance filmmakers with the current generation of directors and industry leaders.

Since the Festival’s launch in 2020, over 60 diverse choreographers from 6 continents have been selected to share their work. Each of these choreographers received access to a network of company directors and industry luminaries who are equally as invested in the future of dance as we are at 92NY. Participation in the festival has resulted in choreographic opportunities such as commissions, grants, and residencies.

Now in its fifth year, Future Dance Festival continues to spotlight emerging choreographers and dance filmmakers through two curated programs: a live performance at 92NY’s historic Buttenwieser Hall and an online presentation of dance films. As part of the Women Move the World season, this year’s festival is open exclusively to women and female-identifying artists, creating space for bold new voices to take center stage.

Future Dance Festival — Live Performance:

12 emerging women and female-identifying choreographers will be selected to share their work in one of two split-bill programs at the 92NY’s historic Buttenwieser Hall on either Friday, April 17, 2026 at 7 PM ET or Saturday, April 18, 2026 at 7 PM ET.
