Dance Astoria Winter Festival — January 18, 2026

Dance Astoria’s Winter Festival is back — and we are seeking Queens-based choreographers to help us kick off the new year with creativity, community, and incredible dance!

This indoor festival will take place at Bohemian Hall & Beer Garden in Astoria, NY on

Sunday, January 18, 2026

1:00–3:00 PM

Each year, dancers and choreographers of all ages inspire us with their artistry and passion. We can’t wait to celebrate the rich talent that Queens has to offer in 2026!

 

Who Can Apply

We welcome work from Queens-based choreographers in all styles of dance. Dance Astoria takes pride in showcasing diversity in movement — past festivals have featured tap, jazz, hip hop, contemporary, modern, cultural dances, and more.

Submitting choreographers must have a meaningful connection to the Queens dance community (residency, choreography, training, or teaching)

 

Submission Guidelines

Maximum piece length: 5 minutes

Venue: Indoor wood dance floor, 33 ft wide x 20 ft deep

Family-friendly event: Music, movement, and costuming must be appropriate for a public, all-ages audience

No application or performance fee

 

How to Apply

You may apply with:

Previously performed work — submit a YouTube or Vimeo link, OR

Proposal for a new work — submit rehearsal or prior work samples plus a written description of your proposed piece

Notification of acceptance: Monday, December 22, 2025
