Dance Parade is Seeking Teaching Artists!

Compensation: $75-$100 per teaching hour (depending on experience)
Dance Parade is seeking qualified teaching artists to join our team and to contribute to our mission.
Dance Parade’s Community Engagement Programs offer participants of all ages - in schools, recreation facilities, senior centers and at public events - opportunities to discover their own innate capacity for the communication of ideas, thoughts, and feelings through the medium of dance. Our programs provide a curriculum where students can learn about the world culture and history of a particular dance genre, learn techniques and choreography, and perform dances for their community and in the annual Dance Parade & Festival in New York City. School programs that culminate with the Annual Dance Parade & Festival are offered from February to May.
Desired Qualifications:
-Experience teaching youth (NYC DOE experience is a plus but not required)
-Classroom management skills
-Reliable and professional
-Dance background and choreographic experience
-Eligible to work legally as an independent contractor
-Experience working with older adults (applicable for our Ageless Action programs)
-Availability and a willingness to facilitate class participation in the Dance Parade & Festival on Saturday, May 16th, 2026
2026 program placement is based on schedule availability and demand.
Season: February-May

Qualified teaching artists will be invited for a phone interview, and if selected, must attend an online training either January 22nd or 23rd, 2026 6-8pm.
