HIP HOP DANCE SOLOISTS (BREAKING) needed for NYC School Performances

 

Accent Dance NYC is seeking professional Hip Hop / Break Dance Soloists to perform at NYC public schools and other sites as part of our Black History educational dance assembly program to be presented on multiple dates at multiple sites through February 2026 and throughout the year.

Accent Dance NYC was founded to celebrate multiculturalism through dance. We prioritize hiring artists who reflect the communities we serve. BIPOC artists are especially encouraged to apply, though all are welcome. Artists who have experience and interest in serving youth audiences are also encouraged to apply.

- Resume or detailed bio of your performance experience
- Headshot or clear photo of yourself
- Video of you dancing (reels or performance, studio or improvisation footage is accepted). We will view up to 3 minutes of footage max.

If you are chosen, in the performances, you will need to dance a 2-3 minute hip hop dance solo that shows different styles of hip hop through its' evolution, including breaking. You will also need to speak about the history and the pillars of hip hop, demonstrate hip hop basic moves, and include some audience participation, as well as join in the company finale.
