Novus Contemporary Ballet is entering its 2026–2027 season with bold new repertory, collaborative projects with Selah Dance Collective, and touring/educational engagements across California. We are seeking technically rigorous, artistically curious, and collaborative dancers who are excited to work across ballet and contemporary idioms, and who value process as much as performance.

This call is open to:

– Company Artists (paid, project-to-seasonal contracts)
– Apprentices / Trainees (tuition-based or scholarship/assistantship options)
– Guest Artists for specific projects
– Teaching/Outreach–interested dancers for our education work

If you are a dancer who thrives in hybrid spaces—ballet + floorwork, pointe + partnering, improvisation + set choreography—we want to see you.

Audition Pathways

You may choose one of the following. Dancers outside of California are strongly encouraged to attend an in-person audition.

Audition Dates and Locations:

– Santa Barbara – February 15, 2026 at 11:30 AM at Santa Barbara Dance Arts
– New York – March 1, 2026 at 11:30 AM at Gibney 280 Broadway

The audition will consist of a classical ballet class (1.5 hours) and learning Novus repertory (1 hour). Callbacks will occur via invitation to visit our studios and attend a company class.

Satellite Audition / Class Audition
