Videographer for 9-weekend Dance Competition Gig

When a dance competition venue is set up the doors are opened and hundreds of dancers arrive with their talents and enthusiasm.  At the Director’s queue, the first routine is called to the stage and there is an anticipatory silence but when the music starts the building comes alive with unmatched energy and excitement that lasts the entire weekend!  On Point is seeking talented, hardworking crew members to create this experience with us.  Join us in having fun and making memories with this year’s dancers!!

The Job:

The Videographer is responsible for preserving lasting memories for On Point competitors. This position requires candidates to:

- Competently operate a Panasonic video camera, specifically adjusting camera settings in order to capture crisp footage in low-light conditions.  Livestream/Vimeo experience is a plus.
- Meticulously manage the collection of video files, proficiently using PC and MAC laptops to ensure files are recorded and saved correctly; attention to detail is imperative.
- Confidently troubleshoot equipment and technological issues as needed.
- Positively work as a team to perform a variety of event production duties including setting up and breaking down each event in addition to their assigned position.
- Physically and mentally manage very long days standing at the camera.
- Responsibly rent and safely drive a 16’ rented box truck paid for by On Point.

Selected team members will demonstrate strong organizational skills and be able to administer every detail of his or her duties so precisely and smoothly that everyone in attendance is only aware of the fun they are having!!

The Videographer must be at least 25 years of age and based in/near Central NJ with the ability to travel the east coast from March through May. Most work weekends will include a Thursday departure and a Monday return. The Videographer will have their own reliable transportation to On Point’s corporate office.

Main Job Descriptions/Expectations:

- MUST have video camera experience – videographer will use On Point’s equipment
- MUST have PC and MAC computer experience – videographer will use On Point’s computers to store/categorize video files
- Reliability and attention to detail is a MUST! – we cannot miss or “lose” routine videos
- Positive, can-do personality
- Well-groomed appearance
- Ability to work long hours in high-stress theatrical production environments
- Located within a reasonable driving distance of Hillsborough, NJ
- Will share responsibility for driving company van paid for by On Point
- Physically able to lift/lower equipment for load-in/load-out at corporate office and for set-up/break down at each event
- Past dance convention/competition experience is very helpful but not required

This position is a part-time, seasonal, 1099 contract position.  Please do not apply unless you are available all of the following dates – including the corresponding Thursdays and Mondays:
